PLB FastFind 220. Lightweight and versatile personal locator beacon that alerts the rescue center via satellite. This new updated model V2 supports both Galileo and Cospas-Sarsat satellite systems. The transmitter is waterproof and has great reception. For people at sea, in the forest or in the mountains. Safety equipment for sailors, hikers, hunters, forest workers. McMurdo Fastfind transmits emergency messages via the Cospas-Sarsat satellite system, which operates around the world. Once activated, it transmits its unique identification code and the satellite system directly contacts local rescue forces.
In order for the Joint Rescue Coordination Center (JRCC) to know who is in distress when alerted, the distress beacon must be registered. This is done by first registering the username and password in the International Beacon Registration Database (IBRD) and then registering the beacon. Since 2017-06-01, the sender himself registers his PLB in the international IBRD register, see step-by-step instructions and link to registration below. No authorization is needed to hold a PLB. McMurdo Fastfind PLB is activated manually and transmits emergency messages on 406 MHz to the Cospas Sarsat satellite system. Please see the movie how to activate the PLB.
With built-in 50-channel GPS, your exact position is transmitted instantly and rescue teams can find you faster. Fastfind 220 is very small, weighing only 150 grams. It transmits on 121.5 MHz, which is the frequency that the rescue team can pinpoint.
The PLB is personally registered and the registration should be updated with current data when needed or every two years, see link below.
The PLB is supplied complete with universal bag, buoyancy bag and neck strap.
