Lake Vänern is Europe's third largest lake: 5650 square kilometers in size, with 22,000 islands and islets in several distinct archipelagos - each with its own special charm.
There are many active boating clubs around Lake Vänern, but tourists visiting the lake often take the straight track between the Göta River and Trollhätte Canal and towards the Göta Canal. But if you go just a little off the beaten track, there is a good chance that you can find your own island or cove.
The book shows you the way to the authors' favorites and inspires you to spend your holiday time in our largest lake. It also includes ports and attractions on the Göta River and Trollhätte Canal, as well as in Landsort-Skanör previously published Vättern and Göta Canal.
The book guides to 28 natural harbors with detailed addition instructions and measurements by Hydrographica as well as 70 guest harbors and club harbors with information on available services and attractions. In addition, 80 aerial photographs facilitate navigation.
The book is written by Angelica Parling-Lindström, Catharina Söderbergh, Ann Ardebrant, Torbjörn Ardebrant and Lars Granath.
